Rare Universal Aero-Compax 1960's chronograph, Ref. 890101/01, one of the later designs, with its black-and-white color configuration, an all-black handset, and the second timezone bezel. The rotating bezel also indicates a larger S/S case which measures 42mm. ca. 14 mm. tickness. Powered by a manual wind Universal Caliber 90, that is much more than a normal Venus 178 as the engraving on the mainplate would indicate. Indeed, this chronograph movement was heavily modified to accommodate the 24-hour display and the 15-minute totalizer. The latter is an essential modification, as the 15-minute duration was the time for running the pre-flight checklist of an airplane. Overall in awesome condition, all functions work properly.
