WWW British Army 40s, stepped bezel one-piece steel screwback waterproof case, self winding caliber Ref.1268z completely original in excellent condition. In the early 40s, the British Ministry of Defenseestablished the specifications for a military wristwatch for soldiers engaged in World War II. The specifications are known as WWW (Watches Wristlet Waterproof). Twelve were the watchmakers who responded to the requirements of the ministry: Buren, Cyma, Eterna, Grana, Jaeger LeCoultre, Lemania, Longines, IWC, Omega, Record, Timor and Vertex. These twelve watches are known among collectors as the dirty dozen.
